An award for an individual who specifically contributes to the work done by national LR Leisure as a volunteer over a long period of time.

Introduced in 1996
John Manthorpe worked in the Land Registry for almost 55 years from Sept 1952 until March 2007.
He served as Chief Executive for 10 years following 5 years as Chief Land Registrar.
John is still regarded and revered as one of the best and regularly attends the Life Members lunch. John was a keen sportsman and supported everything Sports & Social organised.
When he retired he wanted to be remembered for acknowledging everything that Sports & Social brought to the department and so introduced this trophy that he awarded to his great friend and Secretary at the time Mike Crawshaw.
To this day John likes to be told who has been awarded the trophy which serves as a Who's Who of Sports & Social(LR Leisure) and sends a personal message to the recipient.

For all the time I've been involved in National LR Leisure, Andy has been ever present.
Before Matt Shearer he was the national organiser for basketball ensuring we entered all available Civil Service competitions.
He's been ever present and an active contributor at National meetings ensuring our success and representing the views of Plymouth members.
During Covid he stepped up and joined the virtual events team which delivered L'euRovision and Winter Wonderland. L'euRovision continues to this day. He also launched online boardgames which has an ever-growing list of active participants.
More recently he became a national coordinator for our social events and has been providing support to our national organisers which I know they appreciate.
Finally, he is the mastermind behind a new trophy called the Neil Vicktory Jug. Watch this space for more!
